Geraldine in numbers:
32 years in accounting and enjoying helping businesses keep on track...
…I’ve held a number of positions during my career including financial controller, finance manager, as well as strategy and redirection.
3 things I love most about being an Accountant:
- I like the variety of businesses that our clients own and how they tackle business pressures in their own way which provides me with invaluable overviews that can be used to help others.
- As well as exposure to different industries, I also enjoy the range of people that I get to meet and to see how they have adapted and grown their businesses over the years.
- I enjoy providing support to our clients to manage day to day software issues but the real impact is the contribution to the financial success of a business by providing help with targeted budgets, forecasts and financial goals and to help keep businesses on track as they progress along their financial journey.
My no.1 piece of inspirational advice about work/life:
‘Stay positive and happy. Work hard and don’t give up hope. Be open to criticism and keep learning. Surround yourself with happy, warm and genuine people’
When I’m out-of-office I’d most like to be travelling top speed up the M3...
When I’m not in the office/working, I’d most like to be at home surrounded by my family and dogs, but to really make me smile, I’d like to be on the beach at Seychelles, with a good book in one hand and a cocktail in the other. Main road to get there would be travelling top speed up the M3 to Heathrow Airport.
My most favourite destination I’ve travelled to so far: 4.6796° S, 55.4920° E
Seychelles – the tropical beaches are fantastic and the fish that you get to see so very close up are amazing. I had a great holiday there and the memory seems more precious as it was my last foreign holiday before Covid changed everything.
2 is my lucky number
…though not sure why.
The B1G1 cause I’m most passionate about us making a difference within...
…is us helping as many homeless children as possible by providing food, water and a safe shelter.
