Tree planting to celebrate each new client

Making a global impact from the very start of our journey together

Tree planting is important to us as it’s an act of safeguarding our planet now and for future generations to come. Did you know, once fully grown, a tree can absorb up to 21kg of carbon dioxide per year!?

Trees not only remove and store carbon from the atmosphere, they also provide the air we breathe, food, shelter, and habitats for wildlife, protection from flooding and landslides, as well as in some cases provide livelihoods for local communities. To date, we’ve planted 307+ trees in the world (and counting!)

New client impact: tree planting as part of global projects

Supporting global projects

The tree saplings we fund are planted across global projects, including to help:

  • save Orangutans in Indonesia
  • the restoration of the Indigenous Southwest
  • marginalised families in India with grafted fruit trees
  • restore Daintree rainforest
  • support reforestation in Indonesia
  • restore degraded forests in Madagascar
  • increase forest cover in India
  • plant a forest in Kenya

Projects like:

The mango tree re-greening project in Kenya (TMT-Ke).

It’s target is to re-green 50HA of land with forest trees and fruit trees within Homabay county. Identifying land and degraded sand mines for rehabilitation through partnerships with various government line ministries and local communities.

The aim is to plant 1,000,000 trees within 3 years, to create wood-lots in selected areas, support schools and homesteads, and work with widows, young women, Office for Victims of Crime (OVCs), youths, people with disability and school-going children. The project also supports work towards the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: ‘TAKE URGENT ACTION TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPACTS. Strengthening resilience, building knowledge and capacity to adapt to and meet climate change.’

The project Strategy:

  • Establish 300 farmer field schools to develop experiential learning about the production of quality tree cultivars and orchard management
  • Support and strengthen environmental clubs in 50 primary schools to teach and inspire a culture that cares and protects the environment through fruit trees.
  • Establish 5 TMT-Ke tree nurseries in partnership with the local community to produce high-quality seedlings of fruit tree cultivars.

‘Creating a forest in every homestead remains a priority for the organisation, and educating families to set up at least a section of their farmland for planting either forest or orchard has been adopted by the community who have begun to see the beauty and benefits of trees’.
